Margaret Louise "Cissy" Carter, age 72 of Smyrna, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Stonecrest Medical Center. She was a native of Smyrna and retired as a chef at the Smyrna Town Center after 18 years of service. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanna Barrett, and husband, Jerry Neal Carter. Survivors include her children, Margie Moreau and her husband Mark, William "Bill" Bess and his wife Norma, Shannon Williams and her husband Steven all of Smyrna, and Jeri Ford and her husband Jesse of Murfreesboro; sisters, Bobbie Rader of La Vergne and Billie Morris of Columbia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Mapleview Cemetery under the direction of Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Minister Bert Scott will officiate.
