Obituary

Marcus Bearden, age 86, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 2015. He was the son of the late Marcus Bearden and Fannie Mae Hogan Williford and was a native of Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Velton Jordan and Charles McKnight will officiate. A graveside service will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. Mr. Bearden is survived by his wife of 64 years Jean Cordle Bearden; children, Steven Bearden and his wife Debbie of Kennesaw, GA, Cynthia Facemire and her husband Jay of Brentwood, TN, and Stan Bearden and his wife Gina of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Broadhurst, Rebecca Frizzell and her husband Joshua, Chelsea Hilton and her husband Reid, Nicholas Facemire, Hallie Bearden, and Chloe Bearden; great-grandsons, Mason, Harrison, Parker and Jonah; three sisters; three brothers; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bearden was member of Belle Aire Baptist Church. He was also an ordained deacon at Hixson First Baptist and Ooltewah Baptist Church. He was employed with Mills and Lupton Supply Co. and was a retired in sales with Stuart C. Irby Co. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Bearden had many hobbies including music, woodworking, boating, UT Football, and was a volunteer mission worker with Campers on Mission. He was also known as a neighborhood fix-it man. Mr. Bearden was a member of the Ooltewah Masonic Lodge #714 and was also a 32 degree member of the Scottish Rite. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorials in memory of Mr. Bearden can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m.
