MARCIA LOUISE MANLEY, age 68, of Murfreesboro, died January 11, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical center. Ms. Manley was a native of Beechgrove and was the daughter of the late James W. and Carremaye Evans Manley. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Martha Touchton officiating. Ms. Manley is survived by her husband, E. James Baldwin; daughters, Lori McCarrall (Jim) of Murfreesboro, Leah Hulan (Kevin Davis) of Franklin, and Kara Kemp (Matthew Gallaher) of Murfreesboro; and grandchildren, Laila Rain Davis, and Alastair Ross McCarrall. During her high school and college years, Ms. Manley became quite popular as she sang in a trio called the TriTones. She went on to graduate from Bell Buckle High School and then received her B. S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University and her M.S. degree from Appalachian State University. She had a gift of inspiring students, and retired from teaching after 35 years, having taught in Tullahoma and at Riverdale High School. She was an avid traveler and had traveled worldwide throughout her entire life. Possessing an open mind and an open heart, she knew no stranger and had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Memorials in memory of Ms. Manley may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or The American Cancer Society.
