Manuel E. Montealegre age 74 of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday November 1, 2014. A native of Nicaragua, he was the son of the late Manuel Montealegre Mayorga and Mercedes Jara Somoza. Manuel Montealegre was a devoted Catholic. He grew up in Nicaragua and came to the United Sates to study agricultural economics at LSU. Afterwards, he returned to Nicaragua, married Maria Gordillo and had three sons. He was a loving father and grandfather, always encouraging his family to follow their dreams. In his later years, he was a dedicated volunteer for charities that helped Hispanics in need. Mr. Montealegre is survived by his three sons; Dr. Manuel Montealegre,Jr. and his wife Dr. Elizabeth Maxwell Montealegre, of Murfreesboro, Mario Montealegre and his wife Anneliese of Murfreesboro, Gabriel Montealegre of Miami, Florida, three grandchildren; Nicolas, Dylan and Christopher Montealegre. He is also survived by his brother; Mariano Montealegre and his wife Yolanda of Miami, Florida. Visitation will be 12:30 noon with Memorial service following at 1:30pm Friday November 7, 2014 at The Chapel of St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
