MALVIN DONALD DON JOHNSON, of Murfreesboro, died July 6, 2010. He was a native of Mt. Pleasant, TN, and son of the late John Matt and Maude Trice Johnson. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant and MTSU. He was a veteran serving in WWII with the Merchant Marines. He was drafted during the Korean Conflict and served with the United States Marine Corp serving with the 1ST Marine Tank division in Korea. Mr. Johnson was an educator serving as principal and girls basketball coach at Cornersville High School in Marshall Co., and serving as principal at Cheatham Co. High School in Ashland City, TN. He retired as principal of McFadden School in Rutherford Co. in 1991. He is survived by his wife Mary Hoover Johnson; daughter, Mary Lavender Money and son in law Gene Money of Lynchburg, TN; son Donald L. Johnson of Rockvale; grandson John K. Lavender and wife Charly of Winchester; granddaughter Laura Lavender Hill and husband Justin of Winchester; four great grandchildren Taylor Nunley, William Lavender, Makenzie Hill, and Austin Hill all of Winchester. He is also survived by Jamie McCullough Shelton and Brian E. Davis of Murfreesboro, and nephew Howard Johnson and wife Jenny of Franklin. Active pallbearers are Brian E. Davis, Donald R. Hawk, John R. Hawk, Laura L. Hill, Terry L. Hoover, Thomas F. Hoover, John K. Lavender, Jamie Shelton and Thomas R. Todd. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Brumsfield, William B. Ezell, Dick Hawk, Howard Johnson, Eric Shelton, Tim Tepper, and Buddy Woodson. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Justin Hill officiating, with a eulogy given by Gene Money. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. 615-893-515
