MAI MONTGOMERY MURPHY, age 73, of Lavergne died Sunday, June 28, 2009. She was a native of Smyrna and the daughter of the late Joe Bud Ramsey and Evie McGowen Montgomery. Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. Carl Scarlett will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Campbell Murphy, sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Ellen Murphy of Lavergne, Scott Murphy of Lavergne, Monty and Rhonda Murphy of Smyrna, daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rudy Rideout of Smyrna, brothers, William Montgomery of Smyrna, Howard (Francis) Montgomery of Lavergne, Thurman Montgomery of Lavergne, sister, Eva (Benny) Sumrall of Smyrna, 8 grandchildren, Josh (Jamie) Short, Elissa Farris, Cody Murphy, Alexanna Murphy, Luke Rodgers, Morgan Murphy, Ashlin Murphy and Logan Murphy, great grandchild, Faith Maultsby, sisters-in-law, Martha Tootie Montgomery and Juanita Montgomery. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joe Montgomery, Raymond Montgomery, Ann Montgomery, Jodean Montgomery. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Miracle Baptist Church.
