Macon Brown Davenport age 88 of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday April 30, 2015. A native of Cannon County, he was the son of the late Johnny E. and Lena Preston Davenport. He is also preceded in death by his wife; Mary Frances Davenport, son Macon A. Davenport and five sisters and two brothers. Mr. Davenport is survived by daughter; Cheryl Davenport of Murfreesboro, sons; Dale Davenport and his wife Teresa of Milton, Kevin Davenport and his wife Kathy of Murfreesboro, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Davenport was a member of Hillview Baptist Church and was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Alvin C. York Medical Center after 35 years of service and worked as a T.V. repair man for many years. Visitation will be 2:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Charles McKnight officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
