Lytle Woodfin Bowen, age 83, of Smyrna, died June 13, 2010 at his home. Mr. Bowen was a native of Christiana and the son of the late Thomas D. and Effie Stem Bowen. Funeral Service will be 11:00am Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Elder Jimmy Tyson will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery with Full Military Rites. Mr. Bowen is survived by his wife Betty Bell Bowen; sons, Lytle Woody Bowen, Jr, and wife Crystal, Christopher Bell and wife Brittany both of Smyrna; daughter, Catherine Snell and husband Jeff of Murfreesboro, four grandchildren, Arlyn Bowen, Trace Bell, Jackson Snell, and Jessica Jarrell, one great granddaughter, Haylee Jarrell, sisters, Louise Howard of Murfreesboro, Pearl Fletcher of Beech Grove, and Alice Bolin of Murfreesboro. Mr. Bowen was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church and a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He was a retired general manager of Ridley Chevrolet where he was employed for over 50 years. Mr. Bowen attended Christiana High School and was a member Sam Davis Masonic Lodge 661 for over 50 years. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
