Lula Goins Long, age 64, of Smyrna, died Thursday, August 11, 2011. She was a native of Franklin, TN and the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene Johnson Goins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garvin Matthew Long, and her brother, David Eugene Goins. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Monday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Bro Reed Buntin wil officiate. Burial will follow in Triune Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Joshua Eugene Long of Smyrna, siblings, Jack (Jean) Goins of Madison, Billy (Karen) Goins of Eagleville, Joyce (Marion) Waller of Inglewood, JoAnn (Vincent Mott of Hawthorne, NJ, Wayne (Tammy) Goins of Triune, Alvin Goins of Smyrna, Barbara Eason of Donelson, Robert (Rachel) Goins of Mt Juliet, Cathy Goins of Hawthorne, NJ, and Sammy (Colleen) Goins of White House, grandchildren, Joseph Tanner Long and Joshua Matthew Vincent, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mrs. Long was a retired bookkeeper who was employed by Service Merchandise and General Truck Sales, but her greatest job of all was being a mother and homemaker.
