Lt. Col. Robert Walter Bob Murphy (USARNG retired), age 63, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was a native of Columbia, TN and the son of the late Frank and Louise Church Murphy. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Pearson Murphy, who died in 2010. Funeral service will be 10:00am Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. David Young and Julian Goodpaster will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Dumat and her husband Anthony of Murfreesboro, and grandson, Robert Clay Dumat. Lt. Col. Murphy served his country for more than 34 years in the Army National Guard before his retirement.
