Loyd Johnson Waldron, age 88, of Union Hill, TN (formerly of LaVergne, TN) and resident of Elmcroft Assisted Living in Murfreesboro, passed to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Sam and Mable Johnson Waldron. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, JoAnne Polk Waldron; five brothers and five sisters.

He was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ and was a long-time former member of LaVergne Church of Christ. He was also an Army Veteran of the Korean War and used his G.I. bill to go to Barber College. After graduating he went to work with his uncle and eventually bought the business. He was owner-operator of Waldron's Barber Shop in Smyrna serving the residents for 56 years.

Mr. Waldron is survived by children, daughter Kathy Tedder and her husband Dan of Murfreesboro; sons, Gerald Waldron of Union Hill, Darrell Waldron of LaVergne, Steven Waldron and his wife Estelle of Smyrna, and Timothy Waldron and his wife Debbie of Beechgrove; sisters, Ernestine Jones of Gallatin, Adrianna Pitts of Donelson; brothers, Franklin Waldron of LaVergne, Melvin Waldron of Smyrna, and Cecil Waldron of Antioch; 12 grandchildren, Audrey Marlow, Eric Nathan and Brent Tedder, Ryan, Andrew, Emily Waldron, Jacob, Clint, Waldron, Stephanie Calhoun, Heather Lynn, and T.J. Waldron; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be Monday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna at 1:00 p.m. Brother Jon Gary Williams will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Sunday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
