Lorene Cooper Pitts, age 87 of Readyville, TN died Monday, July 7, 2014. She quietly said farewell to those who will forever cherish her memory and reunite with loved ones who have awaited her presence. Mrs. Pitts was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Travis Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pitts, son, Randall Pitts, grandson, Jeffrey Pitts, siblings, Homer, Ray, Vesper, Mack and Lela Cooper, Ethel Hollis, Mettie Clancy, Hallie Hipp, Louise Harris, Carolyn Mankin, and Mary Ann Bugg. She is survived by her grandchildren, Micah Pitts and his wife Shannon of Murfreesboro, Amy Foster and her husband Jeremy of Cookeville, Alison Hutt and her husband Jeremy of Murfreesboro, daughters-in-law, Barbara Pitts of Readyville, Margaret Johnson of Birmingham, AL, great grandchildren, Kensey Smithson and Brayden Pitts, many nieces and nephews and loving pet Bosco. Mrs. Pitts was a member of Sharpsville Church of Christ and a graduate of Kittrell High School. She retired from Carnation and Bridgestone. She served as a union treasurer for many years and was active in the AIDS Foundation. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the many acts of kindness and loving care shown during her time at Community Care of Rutherford County. Graveside service will be 3:30pm Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Bro. James Lively will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
