Obituary

Lonnie Dean Gammons age 83, of LaVergne, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday November 30,2012. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Winford and Sally Ford Gammons. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Holder Gammons, second wife Dorothy Gambill Gammons, Brothers Buck Gammons, Calvin Johnson, Pete Gammons, Herbert Lee Johnson, and Paul Gammons. Funeral service will be 12:00 noon Monday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, with Brother Bill Hunter officiating. Interment will be 3:00 pm Monday at Durys Cemetery in Lafayette,Tennessee with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Gammons is survived by Daughter Ginger Turner, Granddaughter Samantha Turner both of Gatlinburg, Step Children Jimmy (Vickey) Merritt of Murfreesboro, Billy (Becky) Merritt of Smyrna, Donny Merritt of LaVergne, Half Sisters Helen Johnson Voss of Green Grove,Tn, Emma Johnson Barber, Velma Johnson Dallas both of Lafayette, Dorothy Gammons Swindle of Hartsville, and Half Brother Troy Johnson of Red Boiling Springs. Mr. Gammons was a member of Burnettes Chapel Church of Christ. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
