Lonnie "Bud" Burnett, age 65 of LaVergne, died Thursday at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Rutherford County and a son of the late Lonnie and Mildred Glymp Burnett. He was also preceded by a brother, John William Burnett and a sister, Dorothy Burnett. Mr. Burnett is survived by his wife, Brenda Burnett; three sons, Shane Burnett of LaVergne, Christian Burnett of Shelbyville and James Burnett of LaVergne; step-daughter, Deanna Christopher of Smyrna; a sister, Emma Burnett Toombs and her husband James of LaVergne; thirteen grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. Mr. Burnett was a United States Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 2:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Pastor Bobby Howard will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
