Lois "Big Mama" Blanton, age 63 of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday at her home following a brief illness. She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Jack Wilson Browning and Mary Blanche Gannon Browning. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Steve Blanton in 2015 a son, Johnathan Dallas Blanton, and a sister, Linda Browning.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Griffis and husband Holland of LaVergne and Jasmine Blanton of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Jim Browning and wife Shirley of Alexandria, Bill Browning and wife Barbara and Bobby Browning, all of Murfreesboro; and a host of other loving family and friends.
