Loel "Dean" Pfoff, 88, of Nolensville, TN; formerly of Paxton, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 East Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Jeff Cottingham officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military graveside services conducted by the Buckley American Legion Post 513. Visitation will be from 4 " 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the funeral home with Masonic rites at 7:30 p.m. by the Paxton Masonic Lodge No. 416 A.F.&A.M. Dean was born July 10, 1922 in Elliott, the son of Henry and Nellie Jardine Pfoff. He married Dorothy E. Jordan November 1948. She died October 1, 1984. He married Dorothy E. Elkins October 1991. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Polly Moore of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandra Moore of Indianapolis; one step-daughter, Karen Miller of Nashville, TN; a step granddaughter, Amy Miller of Nashville; a step great granddaughter, Alexis Thomas and two step great grandsons, Dalton and Logan Scannaliato. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Dean grew up in Elliott. He attended Celina High School, Celina, OH and Hobart Trade School in Troy, OH. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945. During WWII he was in the European Theatre of Operations. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union 380, Urbana for 40 years and retired in 1987. In November 2001, he and Dorothy moved to Nolensville, TN. Dean was a member of the Buckley American Legion Post 513, the Paxton Masonic Lodge 416 A.F. & A.M. and the Scottish rite of Bloomington. Dean enjoyed fishing and golfing. Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Covenant Church, Paxton or an organization of the donor's choice.
