Lisa Diane Thomas, 47, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born August 2, 1979, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Delma and Patsy Thomas, Lisa was raised in Panacea and graduated from Wakulla High School. Her love of country music led her to Nashville, where she worked as a respiratory therapist before moving into retail at the Grand Ole Opry, a place that meant the world to her. She later found her home in retail management at Palmetto Moon.
Lisa was tenderhearted and quick-witted, with a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She loved her family fiercely, especially her mama. She and her sister, Leann, grew up side by side, and their close bond, full of laughter, lasted her whole life. With her sister Marilyn, she shared a love of music and photography. Her nieces, Katie and Jana, adored Lisa, and they will always cherish the times they spent with their aunt.
Lisa would travel anywhere if music was waiting at the other end. You could often find her photographing sunsets or taking drives to find purple tulips, her favorite flower in her favorite color. She had a way of finding beauty in the simple things and sharing it with the people she loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delma Thomas. Lisa is survived by her mother, Patsy Thomas; her sisters, Marilyn Whetstone and Leann Thomas; and her nieces, Katie Ryle and Jana Whetstone.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna, with the funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. The family requests that everyone wear bright clothing in Lisa’s honor.
