Linda Eckhoff Sims, age 60, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014. A native of Tremont, IL, she was preceded in death by her father, Charles "Rollie" Eckhoff. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 4:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with military honors. Pastor Dean Sisk will officiate. Mrs. Sims is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Marc Calvert "Cal" Sims; children, Eileen Woodside and her husband Jeremy of Rockvale, TN, David Sims and his wife Ashley of Friendsville, TN, and Jordan Sims of Murfreesboro, TN, a 2014 graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY; grandchild, Anna Kate Sims of Friendsville, TN; mother, Ina Papenhause Eckhoff of Tremont, IL; brother, Gary Eckhoff and his wife Susan of Tremont, IL; sister, Marjorie Eckhoff of Bloomington, IL; brother, Daniel Eckhoff and his wife Beverly of Tremont, IL; Mark Eckhoff and his wife Sally of Hanna City, IL; and sister-in-law, Darla Arnold and her husband Edgar of Nashville, TN; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Sims was a member of Belle Aire Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois where she was a math major and a computer science minor. Mrs. Sims worked as a Computer Analyst at National HealthCare Corporation where she was the recipient of the 2013 Partner of the Year Award. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing, researching interests on the computer and shopping. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. Mrs. Sims' sons, son-in-law and brothers will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Belle Aire Baptist Church at 1307 N Rutherford Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and Saturday from 3:00PM to 4:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
