Linda Roper

Mrs. Linda Carol Roper, age 79, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro and daughter of the late James and Rachel Summar Jones. Mrs. Roper was a 1965 graduate of Central High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She began her working career as a substitute teacher for Rutherford County School System for many years before going into banking. Mrs. Roper worked for what was then Calvary Bank as a loan officer. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Mrs. Roper was also a member of the Middle Tennessee Choral Society.

Mrs. Roper is survived by her children, Carol Bennett, Victoria Coronel and her husband Carlos, Julia Peck and her husband Michael, and Jamie Bilbrey and his wife Michelle; grandchildren, Evalyn Bennett, Carlos Anthony Coronel and his wife Jered, Gaby Broeren and her husband Teddy, Christian Coronel, Brittany Peck, and Tiffany Lopez and her husband Gabriel; and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Roper.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 7, 2026 from 10:00am until 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 7, 2026 at 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
