LINDA HARRELL SMITH, born April 20, 1946, died September 6, 2008 after long and brave battles with kidney and diabetic disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claiborne J. and Flossie Harrell and a sister, Mary Stroop. She is survived by her son, Dr. Trevor (Lori) Smith; brother, Buddy (Becky) Harrell; sisters, Deloris Mansfield, Clayte (Norm) Hannigan, Nancy Hurst, and Clara Lehew; two granddaughters and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and their families. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 9 at 2 pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Rev. Branson Thurston officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Monday and 1-2 pm Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Mrs. Smith served 20 years as a legislative assistant to the Tennessee General Assembly. She had also served as a media consultant to the United Methodist Church and the Division of Higher Education of the United Methodist Church. She loved art, music, and teaching swimming lessons.
