Lillian Guy Gordon Read, age 93, died Friday at Adams Place. She was a native of the Crescent Community and was the daughter of the late Pettus Graham and Jessie Harrison Gordon. She was also preceded by her husband Hollis Read who died in 2001, a son Thomas Read and a daughter Delgay Read McElroy. Mrs. Read attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She was cafeteria manager at Rockvale School for 34 years before her retirement. She was a graduate of Rockvale High School and attended MTSU. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Reverend Bobby Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Mrs. Read is survived by a son Pettus Read of Rockvale; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Stephen Odom and the staff at Adams Place.
