LEWIS BARRETT WHETSTONE, age 80, of Smyrna, died April 4, 2010 at home. He was a native of Anniston, AL and son of the late Lewis Barrett and Eula Mae Love Whetstone. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at The Nashville First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland St., with Dr. Gary Allen Henecke officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Whetstone is survived by his wife, Marie Whetstone; daughter, Janelle Whetstone (Bob) Steele, Smyrna; sons, Dan (Diane) Whetstone, Smyrna and Dale (Cynthia) Whetstone, Murfreesboro; brother, Aubrey Whetstone, Saks, AL; sister, Janette (Tommy) Nabors, Pensacola, FL; and grandchildren, Melissa (Brian) Hutchings, Murfreesboro, Allison and Steven Whetstone, Smyrna, and Tyler and Haley Whetstone, Murfreesboro. Mr. Whetstone was a member of The Nashville First Church of the Nazarene and was a retired Nazarene minister for over forty years. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna and 12:00 until 1:00 Thursday at the church.
