LEWIS E. ED SHANNON, age 84, of Murfreesboro died Saturday, October 16, 2010. He was a native of Charlotte, NC and the son of the late Walter Barringer and Lillie Cora Smith Shannon. Memorial service will be 12 noon Friday at First Baptist Church. Dr. Michael Smith will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Shoff Shannon, sons, Mitch (Kim) Shannon of Murfreesboro, Brett Shannon of Las Vegas, NV, daughter, Laurie Shannon Mathews of Alpharetta, GA, brother, Walter (Loreta) Shannon of Amarillo, TX, grandchildren, McKinley Shannon, Blake and Brittany Mathews, niece, Marilyn (Ed) Sherman of Cincinnati, OH, and nephew, Rev. Maynard (Ginny) Pittendreigh of Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Mr. Shannon was a veteran serving his country in the US Army Air Corps and a retired Textile Plant Manager.
