LESTER R. SMYTHIA, age 81 of Readyville, died Monday, August 09, 2010. He was a native of Fosterville and the son of the late Ed and Maggie Avaritte Smythia. He was preceded in death by brothers, Willie Smythia, Jimmy Lee Smythia, sister, Odessa Edwards, and his first wife, Sally Sue Harris Smythia. Funeral service will be 3:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brothers Tim McElroy and Joe Woodside will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Judy T. Smythia, daughter, Deborah (Dick) Pruett of Murfreesboro, sisters, Rachel Simmons of Murfreesboro, Rosa Robinson of California, Dorothy Tanner of Florida, granddaughter, Allison Pruett of Murfreesboro, and step daughter, Donna M. (Terry) Mingle of Murfreesboro. Mr. Smythia was a member of Bridge Avenue Church of Christ and a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a Farmer and had retired from the Rutherford County Highway Department. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Middle Tennessee Christian School in his honor.
