Obituary

Lestel A. "Buck" Braschler, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8th, 2015. Buck was born in Doniphan, MO and was a long-time resident there before moving to Murfreesboro, TN in 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Arnold and Clarice Featherston Braschler; and two sisters, Evelyn Jobe and Glynda Mekonen.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Journey Pointe Church. Pastor Ron Bevels and Rev. Larry Mobley will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Braschler is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elva Mobley Braschler; children, Cynthia Braschler Netherton and her husband Ron, Chris A. Braschler and his wife Sandra, and Michael L. Braschler and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Ryan Braschler, Jacob Braschler, Tucker Netherton and his wife Lauren, Chloe Netherton, Anthony Braschler, Adam Braschler and his wife Renee, Clarissa Braschler, and Cara Braschler; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Hudson Braschler; brother, Philip Braschler and his wife Sandra; sister, Arnita Braschler Nickerson and her husband Jac k; aunt, Lois Featherston Madsen; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom he loved very much.

Mr. Braschler loved the Lord and made that a priority in his life. He was a member of Journey Pointe Church in Murfreesboro. He loved music and through the years had sung many solos, duets, quartets and in choirs as well as served as the song leader in churches. He has served on many church boards and served as a treasurer for many years. Mr. Braschler served in the United States Army and was retired from the National Guard after 26 years of dedicated service. While living in Missouri he owned and operated a meat processing and frozen food storage plant for ten years. He then worked as a bookkeeper for many years and worked with Cal Gas when he was transferred to Murfreesboro and made controller of Middle and Eastern Tennessee region in 1976. Later, Buck was a bookkeeper for Palmer Foods until his retirement in the mid 1990's. Buck was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and crossword puzzle enthusiast. He will be greatly missed by his family and many loving friends.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Braschler can be made to the Journey Pointe Church or to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel and Friday at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
