LESLIE CHARLOTTE KING, age 72, of Smyrna, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Alive Hospice Residence. She was a native of Baltimore, MD and the daughter of the late John Whalen and Margaret Sullivan Whalen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe King, son, Bill King, Jr., and brothers, John, Buddy, Thomas, and Donald. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Monday at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bret and Karen King of Nolensville, Bart and Carla King of Smyrna, Burt and Kellie King of Murfreesboro, Brent and Cindy King of Murfreesboro, nine grandchildren, Brae, Ian, Elsias, Gabe, Bryce, Nicholas, Breanna, Bethany, and Baylie. Mrs. King was a devoted wife and mother. She was a retired cafeteria manager of Northside Junior High in Brentwood and an active member of Smyrna Assembly of God.
