LEONA ESTELLE CAMPBELL THOMAS, born October 7, 1906, died Tuesday night at home in Christiana, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband: William Ammon Thomas, three children: Frances Leona, Mildred Elizabeth, and Franklin Ammon Thomas, her parents: Nancy Elizabeth King and William Alphonzo Campbell, one grandchild: John Anthony Thomas, and one great grandchild: Sarah Lynn Thomas. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Prentice Thomas and wife Carolyn, Grady W. Thomas and wife Carolyn, Charles W. Thomas and wife Shirley, and Joyce A. Gehlin all of Christiana; as well as nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She has two surviving sisters: Charlotte Stringfield and Vera Martin both of Antioch, TN. As a local artist, her wood carvings, doll making, paintings, and crocheting has taken blue ribbons at the State Fair for years. Her words of wisdom and magnificent talents will be sorely missed. She was a member of the Una Baptist Church since 1919. Visitation will be 4:00 " 8:00 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN, with funeral services 10:00 am Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. F. Murray Mathis will officiate.
