Lavonnia Retta Clark, age 78, went to be with Jesus on Sunday March 13, 2016. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Bessie Moore Adcock, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie, Leland, Doolittle, Paul and Clyde Adcock, Jr., and a sister, Martha Smotherman.
Mrs. Clark is survived by sons, Robert Wilson, Jr., and Tim Wilson both of Shelbyville, TN, and Jeff Wilson of Christiana, TN; daughter, Larissa Jordan of Fosterville, TN; brothers, Jimmy and James "Randy" Adcock both of Rockvale, TN; sisters, Dorothy Fan of Readyville, TN, Bobbi "June" Gale of Smyrna, TN, Patsy Bebout of Pulaski, TN, and Mary King and Kathy Westbrooks both of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Len Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Christiana with Mark and Mike King, Charles and James Adcock, Eddie Toombs, and Jimmy Smotherman serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Clark worked at Chromolox from 1966 until she retired in 1997. She loved her family dearly and was always a classy woman who liked to dress up, always had her hair and nails done, and liked her jewelry. She loved to cook and was famous for her potato soup and chocolate pie. Mrs. Clark loved to go to church and talk about Jesus to the family. She attended New Life Chapel in Murfreesboro. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Clark may be made to the family to help with expenses.
