Obituary

Lane Lewis, age 85, went to be with the lord on January 29, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center . A native of Manchester , KY , he was the son of the late Ford and America Burns Lewis. He is also preceded in death by two brothers; Steve and Jan Lewis. Funeral Services will be 10AM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bert Scott will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 61 years Juanita Lewis of Murfreesboro, son and daughter in law; Ken (Brenda) Lewis of Smyrna, daughter; Peggy Sue Lewis of Murfreesboro, two brothers and one sister in law; Earl (Geneva) Lewis of Fairfield, OH and Lee Lewis of Charleston, SC, two grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lewis was a member of Murfreesboro Christian Church and served in the 82nd Airborne Division in World War II receiving a Presidential Citation Unit Award, a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for valor during the Battle of the Bulge. He attended Western Kentucky University and Bowling Green Business University. He was a retired territory manager with Diamond Match Co. He was a 50 year Mason and member of Cumberland Lodge No. 8, the Murfreesboro York Rite Bodies and a member of the Al Menah Shriners. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Murfreesboro Christian Church or the Shriners Childrens Hospital. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
