Mr. Kothia Kuany Mabior Juarwel, age 87, formerly of South Sudan, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024. He was born to the late Mabior Juarwel and Achok Chut Aleer. Mr. Kothia worked as a pastor and attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City, UT. He was very involved as a leader in the community and his church.

Mr. Kothia is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Aker Gak Duout Akech; children, Awout Kothia, Malang Kothia, Juarwel Kothia, Rebecca Kothia, David Kothia, Rachel Kothia, Atong Kothia, Adhiou Kothia, and Agaw Kothia; 38 grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Madit Mabior Juarwel, Malang Mabior Juarwel, and Akech Mabior Juarwel; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Deng Kothia.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Nashville, TN. Burial will take place at a later date in Juba, South Sudan.
