Obituary

Kinsey Vance Roberts Howerton of Murfreesboro died December 1, 2012. She was 33 years old. Kinsey, a loving wife, mother, and daughter, was born in Kingsport, TN on November 28, 1979. She graduated in 1998 from Rutledge High School where she was a cheerleader and an honor student. She attended Tennessee Tech University, graduating with a degree in business. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. While in college, she worked at Smith Drug Store in Rutledge and at Bath and Body Works in both Morristown and Cookeville. After graduation, she began her career with State Farm Insurance as a claims representative. She was currently employed in the State Farm regional office in Murfreesboro. She attended Belle Aire Baptist Church. Kinsey married her high school sweetheart, Christopher Eric Howerton, on September 14, 2002. Although she enjoyed many activities, it was her family that brought her joy. She delighted in her roles as wife and mother. Full of life, she will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her kind heart. She will be greatly missed. Her maternal grandparents, Margaret and James Lawson, and her paternal grandparents, Ruth and Ernest Roberts, preceded her in death. In addition to her husband Chris, she is survived by her children, Andrew Roberts Howerton, age 5 and Allison Vance Howerton, age 3; parents, Linda and Ernie Roberts of Rutledge; sister Kelli and husband, Chris of Johnson City; mother and father in law, Betty and Ray Howerton of Bean Station; brother in law Scott Howerton and wife Alisa of Bean Station; nieces and nephews Maggie and Max Seymour of Johnson City and Jordan and Taylor Howerton of Bean Station; aunt Lucie deNobriga of Kingsport; uncle Gary Roberts and wife Gail of Atlanta; cousins Kasey and Bill Wyatt of Atlanta, Kerry and Evan Gibson of Atlanta, Linsey and Nicholas Zalecki of Charlotte, NC and Susannah and Adam deNobriga of Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Smith Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge. The funeral in celebration of Kinseys life will be at 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 at Grainger Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Murfreesboro from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 8 at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monroe Carell Jr. Childrens Hospital at Vanderbilt (address: Vanderbilt Gift Processing Office-In memory of Kinsey Howerton, PMB 407727, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, Nashville, TN 37240).
