Khamphanh Silavong, age 74 of Smyrna, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Vientiane, Laos.

A nurseryman by trade, he was known for his sense of humor and he always enjoyed telling a joke. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to cook for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Kesone Silavong; daughters, Manilay Pathammavong, Manilone Wakefield, Vicki Akom, Souksabay Nesby; and a son, Jim Silavong; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many loving family in Laos including two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
