Kenneth S. Wingate age 79 of Murfreesboro, passed away Sunday June 8, 2014. A native of Mecklenburg, North Carolina, he was the son of the late R.A. and Frances Atwell Wingate. He is also preceded in death by four brothers. Mr. Wingate is survived by his wife of 60 years; Betty Lloyd Wingate, son; Kenneth E. "Eddie" Wingate of Murfreesboro, daughters; Karen Wingate Harper and her husband Rick of Brentwood, Sharon Wingate Hart of Smyrna, three grandchildren; Amanda Harper, Austin Harper, Samantha Hart, and a brother; Murray Wingate and his wife Ann of Florida. Mr. Wingate was a member of Smyrna First Presbyterian Church, and was retired from the United States Air Force. He also worked at the City of Murfreesboro Airport for 17 years. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:30pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
