KENNETH HOWARD (POP) LYBE, age 80, of Murfreesboro, Tn. died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at National Health Care Center. He was born in Marion, Ohio and was the son of the late Garnett & Ola Johnston Lybe. He is survived by his children; Phyllis (Charles) Laurencell, Shorewood, Illinois; Roxanne (Dennis) Erickson, Tallahassee, Florida; Mary (Dale) Nash, Rockvale, Tn.; Kenneth (Jeri) H. Lybe, Jr. Lansing, Illinois; Patricia (Mark) White, Shorewood, Illinois, Linda (Jeff) Maher, Orland Park, Illinois; Diane (Matt) Sells, Murfreesboro;; brother, Dennis (Sandy) Carl Lybe, of Conn.; sister, Penelope (Randall) Harbuck, of Illinois; 16 grandchildren and their spouses and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services 10 am Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Morgan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites. Visitation with the family will be 2-8 pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Lybe was married to the late Linda Swansey Lybe for over 54 years. He was a Protestant, Life-Time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy and a retired employee of Maxi-Muffler retiring in 1991.
