February 26, 1927 – September 18, 2016
Keith K. Reed, age 89, of Murfreesboro passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was a native of Cannon County, TN and son of the late Charles Parmer and Clara Bynum Reed. Keith was a graduate of Cannon County High School and a World War II Army veteran. He was an engineer for the Tennessee Highway Department and Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department. He was a former elder at East Main Church of Christ and Kingwood Heights Church of Christ. He loved the Lord, his family, and his woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Faye Todd Reed; sister, Evelyn Ward; great-granddaughter, Lillian "Lilly" Mary Wilkes; and great-grandson, Jared Allen Hester.
Mr. Reed is survived by son, Dwight T. Reed and his wife Nancy of Texas; daughters, Diane Reed and Angelica Denise Reed both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, LTC D. Todd Reed and his wife Karen of Florida, LeeAnne Rucker-Reed of Georgia, Tonee Wolf and her husband John of Texas, Geri Smith and her husband Shannon of Texas, Jolynn Hester and her husband Shawn of Texas, Natalie Reed Popplewell and her husband Andy of Texas, K. Kenyon Reed and his wife Anna of California, LeAnn Ryan Morgan and her husband Joe of Murfreesboro, and Jenny Reed Wilkes and her husband Bill of Murfreesboro; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pall bearers will be LTC Todd Reed, Bill Wilkes, Joe Morgan, Winslow Hale, Dr. Craig West, and Samuel Morgan. East Main Church of Christ elders and deacons will serve as honorary pall bearers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23 at 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Wayne P. Lankford will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, September 22 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
The family would like to thank Alive Hospice and Adams Place for the excellent care given to Keith.
