KAY DENTON THOMAS, 92, of AdamsPlace in Murfreesboro, died August 22, 2010. She was a native of Nashville, and daughter of the late Grady G. and Lura Vinson Denton. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Eugene Cotey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Tuesday until time of service at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son and daughter in law John and Jo Morris of Murfreesboro; a sister , Mrs. Nell Ball of Nashville; grandchildren Dr. Robert H. Jones, William S. Jones, and James W. Butch Jones all of Murfreesboro; and eight great grandchildren. She was married to the late Carl W. Thomas who died in 1999. Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville and attended Tennessee College for Women in Murfreesboro. She was formerly fashion coordinator for Harveys Department Store in Nashville before moving to Murfreesboro in 1973. Mrs. Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family of Mrs. Thomas would like to thank the staff at AdamsPlace and Alive Hospice for their care.
