Kay Rutland, age 70 of LaVergne Tennessee died Friday January 3, 2014. She was a native of Hereford Texas. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Ward; grandson, Johnathan Richard Ward, and her parents Charles and Georgia Louise Welch Packard. Mrs. Rutland was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Rutland; children, Jon Marcus Ward of Hereford Texas, Jill Statham and husband Chad of Plano Texas, Jason Richard Ward of LaVergne; great grandchildren, Jayson Richard Ward, and Kaisy Layne Ward of Hereford Texas; sisters, Beverley Lambert of Canyon, Texas, and Evelyn Ecker of Amarillo Texas. Visitation will be 5:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial will be at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park in Hereford, Texas. Hereford Heritage Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements in Texas, (806) 364~2211. Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna is in charge of local arrangements.
