KATIE WEBSTER BARRETT HELTON, age 89, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009. She was a native of Lebanon, TN and the daughter of the late Jacob and Mattie Doak Barrett. She was also preceeded in death by her husband, John Edward Helton in 1988, siblings, Sam, Robert, and Floyd Barrett, and Dora Jacobs. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. Allen Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha Helton and Bobby Queener of Murfreesboro, sister, Nellie Adams of Murfreesboro, brothers, Riley (Betty) Barrett of Heth, AR, Ridley (Janie) Barrett of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren, Katrina Tucker (Von) Keller, Meraleigh, Meredith, and Maleah Queener, great grandchildren, Austin and Aaron Keller, step great grandchildren, Lauren and Lindsay Keller, sister-in-law, Mary Barrett, nieces and nephews, Floyd (Lanna) Barrett, Jr, Joyce Adams, Debbie (Howard) Tillery, Phillip, Dale, and Eric Barrett. Mrs. Helton was a social worker with the State of Tennessee for 31 years before her retirement. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
