KATHY PEARSON MURPHY age 63 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Thursday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Murfreesboro, TN, and the daughter of the late Lt. Col. James M. and Sara Elizabeth Arnette Pearson. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Julian Goodpaster will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, Robert W. Bob Murphy; one daughter Ashley Dumat and her husband Anthony; brother, Jim Bo Pearson and his wife Connie; one grandson, Robert Clay Dumat all of Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Murphy was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ and a 1965 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and also attended Texas Tech University. She was the retired Administrative Assistant to the chief of staff at the VA Medical Center. Mrs. Murphy particularly enjoyed cooking, family times, her grandson Clay, and especially fun times with her Central High School friends, also known as the 65 Chicks. The family wishes to especially thank the nurses and medical staff at MTMC oncology unit and Dr. Victor Gian as well as his caring staff at Tennessee Oncology. Pallbearers will be Parker Eakes, Christian Pearson, Brian Vaughn, Jimmy Vaughn, Don Sommardahl, Eddie Knox, Tom Drennan, and Byron Sommardahl. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
