KATHLEEN S. BENSLEY age 88 of Smyrna, TN, died Friday November 6, 2009. She was a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland and the daughter of the late William Edward and Teresa Scott Cumming. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandmothers, Susannah Scott and Katherine Cumming and her husband, George R. Bensley. Mrs. Bensley is survived by daughters and sons in law, Patricia A. and Wayne Parnham of Smyrna, TN and Kathleen J. and Edward Lyle of St. Augustine, FL; brother, Crossley Cumming and sister, Elizabeth Agnew both of Northern Ireland; grandchildren, Edward D. Lyle, Michelle J. Hallman, Amy S. Conrad, Christina K. Simmons, Johnathan T. Henley, and Nickolus A. Minnick; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Hallman, Hunter, Haven, and Ward Lyle, Audrey and Bailey Conrad, Candy Portel, Sydney and Dylan Rock, Ryan Henley, Mackenzie Simmons, and Justin Valentine. Mrs. Bensley attended Scenic Drive Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She served 11 years in the Foster Grandparents program in Wasilla, Alaska assisting in the education of children at Snowshoe Elementary and Wasilla Middle School. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 6:00PM Monday at the Scenic Drive Baptist Church and funeral services at 6:00PM with Brother Ron Hardeman officiating.
