Karen C. Etheridge, age 61 of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday at her home. She was born in Lock Haven, PA and was the daughter of the late William O. Cox and Helen E. Cox. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lowell W. Cox.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Etheridge; sister Janee Cox of Tacoma, WA, and twin sister Karla Windy Boy of Stonewall Oklahoma; a brother, Brent Cox of North Carolina; nieces, Ralania Tignor, Karri Licea, Kelsey Cole, Melissa Burkhart, Kelly Etheridge, Rae Lynn Dodge, Kristin LeFan; nephew, Steven Etheridge; and a host of loving family and friends.
Mrs. Etheridge was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation, past president of the cardiac support group Mended Hearts, and a certified paralegal. She felt her most important work was as a court appointed special advocate for children. She loved all animals; especially cats.
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Etheridge to the American Heart Association, Susan B. Komen for the Cure, or the American Diabetes Association.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to services.
