Karen Susan Cunningham of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, age 57, died unexpectedly on March 23, 2015. She was born on Sept. 1, 1957 in Owensboro, Kentucky. A native of Owensboro, she was the daughter of Kenneth Saalwaechter and the late Lena Saalwaechter. Karen is survived by her husband, Peter; daughter Sarah (Marcus) Jackson of Murfreesboro; son Ben (Meredith) Cunningham of Knoxville; and grandson, James Jackson. Other survivors include sisters Denise (Roger) Lynch of Newburgh, IN and Kareene (Joseph) Todd of Bozeman, MT; and brother Bill (Andi) Saalwaechter of Owensboro, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a dedicated teacher and member of the Searcher's Sunday School Class and Adult Choir at First United Methodist Church. Visitation with family will be Thursday, March 26, 2015, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Memorial service will be Friday, March 27, 2015, at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Family will also receive friends at 10:00am at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or the Providence Christian Academy Building Fund in memory of Mrs. C.
