Obituary

Julie Weakley Mitchell, age 98, of Smyrna died Sunday, April 7, 2013. Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Smyrna and daughter of the late Robert and Lydia Thomas Weakley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John G. Mitchell, Sr. who passed away in 1987 and sisters, Margaret Robinson, Evelyn Gentry Coleman and Rachel Gentry. Graveside service will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna. Rev. Jack Westlund will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am Wednesday until 11:30 am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, John G. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife Libby and James W. Mitchell and his wife Patti all of Murfreesboro, sister, Rebecca Spring of Nashville, four grandchildren, John G. Mitchell, III "Jack", Julie Allison, Kelly Mitchell and John Kerry Mitchell and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Smyrna First Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Smyrna High School and attended the Cincinnati Music Conservatory School. Mrs. Mitchell was a former comptometer operator at Sewart Air Force Base and was the owner of Julie Mitchell Florist in Smyrna. Family will serve as pallbearers.
