Julian Fisher Murphy age 87, passed away Wednesday July 1, 2015. A native of Rutherford County he was the son of the late Henry Clay and Kate Drennon Murphy. He is also preceded in death by five brothers; Chester, Sam, Henry, Bryon, and Marvin Murphy and two sisters; Euderia Short and Katherine Hardison. Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife of 62 years; Margaret Murphy, two sons; Steve Murphy and his wife Karen of Florence, South Carolina, Mark Murphy of LaVergne, daughter; Cynthia Decker and her husband Thomas of Smyrna. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Stephen Murphy and his wife Ellen, Briana Murphy, Savannah Decker and Ali Decker, great-grandchild; Ella Murphy, a brother James Campbell Murphy of LaVergne, and a sister; Patricia Warren and her husband Henry of Murfreesboro. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church. He was a Army Veteran serving in the Korean War and was retired from Avco. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 8:00pm Friday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna. Funeral service will be 9:30am Saturday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Father Jacob Dio officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family request that any memorials may be made to St. Lukes Catholic Church Building Fund.
