Mrs. Judy Teresa Smythia, age 70, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 3, 2019. She was born in Murfreesboro to the late Ernest and Flora Beasley Underwood. Mrs. Smythia was a faithful member of Haynes Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed adult coloring books. Mrs. Smythia loved meeting and talking to people.

Mrs. Smythia is survived by her life partner, Johnny Williams; children, Donna Mingle and her husband Terry, Diane Averitte, Susie Clay and her husband David, and J. M. Williams; siblings, Marsha Currey and her husband Ricky, Wanda Walls and her husband Marvin, Tina Smithson and her husband Bob, and Tim Underwood and his wife Barbara; nine grandchildren, Leslie Mingle, Chris Mingle and his wife Angela, Jason Averitte, J.R. Averitte, Chris Bowhannon and his wife Kristy, Jessica Clay, Donald Fisher Williams, Hunter Williams, and Zowie Williams; two great-granchildren, Jesse James White and Colton Lee Garton; longtime friends, Kathy and Buddy Hoover; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Underwood; sister, Martha Sue Lynch; and two husbands, Billy J. Hill and Lester Smythia.

The family would like to thank Caris Healthcare for their compassionate care of Mrs. Smythia.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, October 7, 2019 at 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jim Paschall and Pastor Mark Merritt will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Chris Mingle, Bobby Underwood, Donald Fisher Williams, Jamie Throneberry, Josh Underwood, Brad Underwood, Timmy Underwood, and B.J. Goolsby.
