Mrs. Judy Dean Ellis, age 76, of Smyrna, TN passed away Monday, September 1, 2025. She was born in Nashville, TN to the late William and Jo Dean Hunter Montgomery. Mrs. Ellis was a 1967 graduate of Smyrna High School. She worked as an insurance administrator for the State of Tennessee for 33 years. Mrs. Ellis was quite the matriarch with a nurturing heart. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband went on many camping trips including spending winters in Florida and going to Yellowstone.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband of 33 years, John Ellis; children, Christy Smith and her husband Jason, Amy Hobdy, Steve Ellis and his wife Lena, and Genia Richardson and her husband Eric; grandchildren, Jared and his wife Kendall, Grace, and Devin; brother, Kenny Montgomery; several beloved step grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends she considered family; and faithful canine companions,  Oscar and Ellie Mae.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 9:30am until 11:30am at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:30am at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
