Obituary

Mrs. Juanita H. Kerr of Halls Hill, TN passed away Friday, September 11, 2020. Surrounded by her family, she died peacefully after a brief illness.

A feisty redhead, Juanita possessed a quick wit, a strong, independent nature, and boundless determination. She had the rare ability to make a perfect stranger feel special because she listened with her heart. She loved her country and served her community several years through her work with the American Cancer Society. She was a loyal friend and hard worker.

Above all, Juanita lived her life with absolute devotion to her faith and her family. Her happiest times were spent with her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her children knew a legacy of hard work, honesty, selflessness, and self-reliance exemplified in her life every day.

Juanita was a BellSouth retiree and native of Murfreesboro. She attended North Boulevard Church of Christ and Milton Church of Christ. Among her last words to her children was her life anthem, "Stay strong for me."

Juanita is survived by her four children, Denise Johnson, Lisa Henderson and her husband John, Jim Kerr and his wife Amelia, and Eddie Kerr and his wife Angie; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milburn Hollandsworth and Lillie Mae Miller; sister, Rita Tetley; and brother, Kenneth Lee Miller.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 10:00am until 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 12:00noon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place in Coleman Cemetery.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 2008 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37203 in memory of Juanita.
