Joyce Evelyn Wheaton, age 58, of Murfreesboro passed away on September 4, 2021. She was born in Germany to the late Edward and Wilhelmina Wainwright.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Wheaton; son, Nickolas Conners; daughter, Mandy Conners; sister, Irene Wainwright; and half-brothers, Paul, Eddie, and David Wainwright.

Joyce was very active with Girl Scouts and the Red Cross in Florida, prior to moving to Tennessee. In Tennessee Joyce was heavily involved with the Scouts BSA in Rockvale and across Middle Tennessee.  Joyce has been a longtime member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Gainesville, FL, maintaining her membership even while living in Tennessee.

The family will hold a memorial gathering at Woodfin Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate school supplies to your local schools in her memory.
