Joyce Murdock Richards, age 82 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013. A lifelong resident of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Laurine Welch Murdock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, G. Earl Richards who died in 1999. Mrs. Richards is survived by her sons, T. Earl Richards and his wife Deborah, and John A. Richards all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Meg Richards Ingram of Knoxville, Evan Richards and Lilla Richards of Murfreesboro; sisters, Marian McCullough, Judith Smythe, and Zana Puckett of Murfreesboro; Faye Polly of Titusville, FL; Regenia Murdock of Palm Bay, FL; and Linda Crosslin of Smyrna, TN. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dean Sisk officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Richards was a graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School. She worked for many years in insurance and retired as a licensed agent with National Life of Vermont. She was a member of Belle Aire Baptist Church. Throughout her life, Joyce loved playing the piano in church and shared this gift with several local congregations including Bellwood, River Rock, Westwood, and Belle Aire Baptist.
