Mrs. Joyce Yvonne Livesay Ellis, 67 passed away Saturday June 4, 2016 at her home after an extended illness surrounded by her family. She was a long time resident of Rutherford County, but Murfreesboro was her final residence. She was born in Hot Spirngs SD and lived with her family in Edgemont SD unti she graduated from High School in 1966 at which time her family moved to Milton, TN. This is where she met her husband.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Wayne Ellis; daughters, Pamela Jyle Sengkhounmany and husband Vixay of Murfreesboro, Amanda Michelle Burnett and wife Priscilla of Bradyville. She has two wonderful and loving grandsons, Brady and Taylor. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Livesay of Murfreesboro; sister, Carol Barnes of Johnson City; sister-in-law, and best friend Betty Smith and husband Billy of Christiana; a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved sidekick, Peanut.
Mrs. Ellis is preceeded in death by parents, Raymond and Marjorie Livesay, and a brother Raymond Livesay, Jr.
She retired in 2003 from the Audiology Department at Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center. Mrs. Ellis was a fun loving nurse who passionately cared for her patients. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved to attend her daughters and nieces's softball games and grandson's baseball games unitl her health no longer made this possible. She loved to read, watch TV, and decorate her house to the hilt at Christams time.
Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice or St. Jude Children's Home.
Funeral service will be 3:00PM Wendesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 3:00PM to 7:00PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
